Description
In this class, we will use our Brent and Bailey extruders to shape clay into coils, straps, and hollow tubes. Demonstrations will include setting up both extruders, operating them, cleaning them, and fundamental techniques for working with various extruded shapes. Basic functional and sculptural projects will be designed to integrate extruded shapes with other forming methods. Students will be encouraged to explore a wide range of possibilities with our existing die shapes and will have the opportunity to design a custom-shaped die.
