Description
Join Lindsey Howarth in exploring how to bring color to the surface of your pots with slips and underglaze.
Students will learn about various non-glaze color treatments for pottery. The session will begin with testing various application techniques, stages, colors, and compositions. These tests will then be glazed using methods that emphasize color and surface decoration, so students can observe how the glaze influences colored slips and underglazes.
Lindsey will demonstrate wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques, followed by using the resulting forms as canvases for applying color. Students are encouraged to create pieces using their preferred construction methods.
