Description
Join Philadelphia based artist Celia Feldberg for a one-day, hands-on workshop that blends functional pottery with storybook-like illustration. Celia will guide students through her methods of using sgraffito and underglaze to achieve effects reminiscent of pen and watercolor. Participants will learn strategies for planning, transferring drawings, as well as developing characters and narratives. The workshop will emphasize both technical skills, like achieving clean lines, and emotional aspects, such as feeling at ease with drawing on clay. It’s open to everyone, from seasoned artists to those who feel they can't draw at all, offering a fun and approachable way to explore surface design.
This workshop is geared toward teaching ceramic surface-decorating techniques. No clay experience is required to attend, but those who have some ceramics experience will benefit the most.
